Julia Fiorio, CIA, MS, Director, Healthcare Internal Audit, KPMG

Julia is a Director in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice with more than 11 years of experience in healthcare compliance, risk, and auditing. She has a strong background in helping healthcare providers and payers identify areas of risk and ensure compliance with policies and regulations to identify process improvements, best practices, and potential discrepancies. She specializes in governmental programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act. Julia current and past clients include some of the leading entities in the healthcare and government industries. Julia has a Masters in Health Policy and is a Certified Internal Auditor.

 

Navid Kashani, JD, MD State Attorney, Director, Government Contractor Services (GCS), KPMG

Navid Kashani is a Director within KPMG’s Government Contractor Services. He supports commercial, state, and nonprofit clients across aerospace and defense, technology, and healthcare and life sciences, helping contractors navigate 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), FAR, and CAS. Drawing on a background in law and financial statement audits, he advises clients with matters concerning Federal and state procurement, government contract concerns, subrecipient monitoring, domestic preference programs, and emerging federal and state compliance risks. Navid is admitted to the Maryland state bar and holds his Juris Doctorate from George Mason University and his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland: College Park.

 

Webinar Description:


Healthcare internal auditors encounter ethical dilemmas every day—where competing values, stakeholder pressures, and uncertain information make “the right course of action” challenging. This virtual session will equip you with practical tools to recognize, analyze, and resolve those dilemmas confidently and consistently. Expect active participant interaction throughout the session to practice making balanced and rationale-based decisions.

 

Learning Objectives:
 
  1. Upon completion, participants will be able to recognize and describe ethical dilemmas commonly encountered in healthcare internal auditing and day-to-day life.
  2. Upon completion, participants will be able to explain various decision-making methods used to resolve ethical issues as well as the impact of behavior on ethics.
  3. Upon completion, participants will be able to describe the impact of behavior on ethics.
  4. Upon completion, participants will be able to apply ethical considerations to healthcare internal audit reviews.
