Ryan Willhite, CIA, CRMA, CISA, CFE, Executive Director, Internal Audit and ERM, UnityPoint Health
 
Ryan is currently the Executive Director of Internal Audit and ERM for UnityPoint Health in West Des Moines, Iowa, having begun this role in August 2019. Prior to that, he worked for Crowe Healthcare Risk Consulting (previously CHAN Healthcare) where he managed the internal audit functions for the Iowa and Fargo divisions of what is now CommonSpirit Health, a national not-for-profit health system. He also served as the national accountable care subject matter lead for Crowe, developing content and resources that were used across all healthcare audit clients. He began his internal audit career working at the Sprint corporate headquarters in Kansas City.
 

James Taylor, CISA CDPSE, Senior Director, IT Audit and Data Analytics, Cencora

An IT risk leader with over 19 years of experience in telecommunications, protein distribution, pharmaceutical distribution, and architecture industries. As Senior Director of IT Audit and Data Analytics at Cencora, he leads a team in cybersecurity, auditing responsible use of AI, and GenAI adoption to enhance risk coverage.

As Internal Audit Director of Cyber Risk Analytics at Comcast, he collaborated with the CISO to monitor cyber data, reducing IT risks across domains covering over 500,000 assets. At Verizon, as Head of Internal Audit Risk Analytics, he led a team enhancing over 150 audits by analyzing billions of records, creating continuous auditing processes, and ensuring high-profile assurance for CFO and Wall Street earnings release certifications.

In the protein distribution industry, he conducted IT risk assessments on four continents for Pre-IPO readiness. He has presented at ISACA conferences on audit technology and leadership. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems, as well as CISA and CDPSE certifications.

The topic of AI seems impossible to avoid these days, whether in an internal audit publication or just in daily life. There is a lot of hype out there, but what does a healthcare internal auditor really need to know at this point? This session will cover some of the primary current use cases of AI in healthcare along with corresponding key risks and audit considerations. Whether you have already audited AI and want to go deeper or are just starting to ask how you can incorporate AI risks into your internal audit plan, you will walk away with some practical ideas for next steps.
